Superbowl 2010 is over and the brand-new ads that were traditionally unfurled last night and are now making the rounds of the television channels, are no less talked about than the game itself. everyone interested with the art of publicity are out with their opinions of the best and worst of the Superbowl commercials.

Obviously there are differences in opinions and the one list varies from the other. Still there are some common favourites and common letdowns. here are the top fives of the bests and the worsts which have entered the respective categories on a regular basis.

To start with the worsts,

“The lifecycle song”, Dove soap- objection: too repetitive, has been done before a countless times.

“Groundhog Day”, truTV- objection: nightmarish.

“Location”, U.S. census- objection: not cool at all

“Sunshine”, Electronic Arts- objection: the new tagline “Hell Awaits”, the new song “Ain’t no Sunshine”

“Bud Light” is a hot favourite. it scores most points with Amanda Fox from Helium and Peter Hartlaub from SFGate.

Volkswagen “Punchdub” ad also features on most top fives.

Bridgestone “Whale Story” is up there, too. The killer whale and the bachelor party ad has proved a rage and is already splashed about on websites.

Snickers, “Betty White”, perhaps the most talked about of the night. The Tim Tebow ad, on a similar line, pales in comparison.

Coke, “Simpsons”, cheer up with the drink, even if you have lost all your money. Old concept, but pretty good execution. after two quiet years, Coke comes up with a hit this time.
