There are now about three full days left until the non-waiver deadline hits, and the Roy Oswalt situation doesn’t seem to be developing particularly well. Astros owner Drayton McLane chimes in with what he thinks about the chances of the whole thing reaching some resolution:

“I’d say it’s about 60 percent that something could be done and 40 percent that Roy will be here next year,” McLane told the Chronicle.

60 percent actually sounds somewhat optimistic, with the Cardinals dropping out and the Dodgers reportedly having trouble finding a match, but the Phillies may get antsy, or McLane and Astros GM Ed Wade may lower their asking price.

For Oswalt’s part, he’d prefer not to have to make a quick decision:

“I’m hoping I’m not going to get it dropped on me an hour before deadline to give me a little bit of time to think about it, but I think it will work out,” Oswalt said.

This whole story just has the feeling of one that’s going to stretch right up until deadline time. In that event, sorry, Roy.

The Phillies and Astros have agreed to the players in a trade that would send Roy Oswalt to the NL champs, a source confirmed for the Post.

The deal is not complete as Oswalt has a no-trade clause and has to give his blessing. There have been mixed messages about if he is willing to play for a Northeast city. Oswalt also has might want his $16 million 2012 option picked up.

However, a source briefed on the deal described it as “very close” to completion.

FOX 26 in Houston originally reported that the deal for players was complete.

a California judge has ruled that Lindsay Lohan must answer questions about her alleged drug use in the civil lawsuit against her stemming from the actress’ 2007 car chase.

Lindsay is expected to give a deposition after her probation violation hearing on July 6. She’ll be asked if she was using cocaine the night that plaintiff Tracie Rice claims LiLo car-chased her on Pacific Coast Highway three years ago.

Lindsay was arrested for DUI and cocaine possession that night when police found two types of cocaine in her urine, and drugs in her pants pocket.

The Mean Girls star has spoke candidly about using drugs in the past. In February, the 23-year-old told Britain’s The Sun, “I abused substances too much and it wasn’t the answer to my problems. People need to know that. I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances. now I’m in a place where I don’t need to use anything and I can feel emotions because I choose to.”

Lindsay is currently out on bail for violating her probation in the 2007 arrest. She’s also been ordered to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet until her next court date on July 6.
